Haverhill - Simon Cohen died peacefully on January 6 after a long illness.

A longtime resident of Groveland, he lived for the final two years of his life at the Wingate Residences in Haverhill. Cohen attended Harvard University, the University of Wisconsin, and Salem State College, and was a history teacher at Haverhill High School for many decades. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Margaret Lagasse Cohen; his sons Peter (husband Jeff) and Daniel; his sister-in-law Patricia Pelosi and brother-in-law Paul Lagasse; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and former colleagues.

The family is grateful to Wingate staff and to Peggy Connolly, who has assisted them for many years.
