Parkland - With deep love and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Norman Nolan Newman, affectionately known as "Gumpy," who passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025, at the age of 96 in Parkland, FL.

Born on July 16, 1928, in Haverhill, MA, Norman lived a full and remarkable life. He attended the University of Massachusetts before embarking on a successful career as the owner of Newman's Furniture Store in Haverhill. A dedicated businessman and provider, he took immense pride in his work, his family, and the life he built.

Norman was the beloved husband of 63 years to Ellen Newman and a devoted father to his three sons, Michael Newman, Jonathan Newman, and Barry Newman. He was also a cherished grandfather to Nikki Newman, Shelby Newman, and Max Newman. His family was his greatest joy, and he expressed his love through his unwavering generosity—whether it was funding family vacations, surprising loved ones with shopping sprees, or gifting each of his grandchildren a car.

In his later years, Norman made his home in Boynton Beach, FL, where he enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—riding his bike, playing tennis, and staying up to date with the world through his daily newspaper. He was known for his vibrant and charismatic personality, always ready to spark a lively discussion with a thought-provoking or controversial question, engaging family, friends, and even strangers in spirited conversation.

Norman's warmth, humor, and boundless generosity left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. The light he brought into the world will never be forgotten.
