Bedford - Bedford - Kamper, Michael G. Sr. was born in Haverhill, MA. on April 26, 1948.

He graduated Haverhill High School in 1967, then enlisted in the U.S. Navy in September of that year. After spending 10 months recuperating from an illness, he was put on the Navy's permanent disabled list and retired from the U.S. Navy. After spending a semester attending Newman Preparatory School and working a number of mechanical jobs, he went to work in 1973 for the Navy at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard where he attended the Apprenticeship (machinist) Program for four years.

He married Correen Dube of Lawrence, MA. and became the proud father of two children, Michelle and Michael Jr. In 1981 Mr. Kamper went to work for the U.S Army at the Natick Labs, Natick, MA. In 1988 he started his postal career, which ended in 1995 when he was arrested for a number of sex offenses and served the 5 1/2 years he was required to serve, then was committed to the Massachusetts Treatment Center, where he attended sex offender treatment programs until his release in 2023. He died on May 19th in the V.A. hospice unit in Bedford, MA. where he received excellent palliative care. He was predeceased by his parents Tom and Margaret Kamper, and two sisters, Christine Costanza and Kathy Maille. He is survived by his two children as well as his granddaughter Amber Hudzik and great-grandson Daniel, and his sister Rev. Margaret Sheffield.
