June F. (Riley) Holleran
Haverhill, MA - June F. (Riley) Holleran, of Haverhill, passed peacefully Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at the High Pointe House in Haverhill. She was the devoted wife to Laurence Patrick Holleran.
Born in Haverhill on June 5, 1938, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Petelle) Riley and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1956. June went on to receive a Bachelor's degree in education from Lowell State Teacher's College which lead to a lifelong career as an exceptional elementary school teacher. She taught at seven elementary schools in the greater Haverhill area during her career, truly cherishing her time at the Rocks Village Elementary School the most. Throughout her 35 years of teaching, she was a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association as well as the National Education Association.
June enjoyed spending her Summer and Fall seasons at her camp in Twin Mountain, NH. She also loved to read, knit, do crossword puzzles, and in her later years, looked forward to her water exercise classes at the Workout Club in Salem, NH, where she made many new friends. Her greatest joy by far was shopping for her grandchildren and celebrating the holidays, surrounded by her family.
A longtime member of St. John's Catholic Church in Haverhill, she was a woman of great faith, compassion and understanding. With her selfless nature, June lived her life to the fullest, always doing and caring for others, be it for her family and friends, or her young students.
June was blessed with four children, Daniel Holleran and wife, Erin of Connecticut, Michael Holleran and wife Julie of Methuen, John Holleran of Hudson, NH, and Heather Dodds of Merrimack, NH; her six beloved grandchildren, Micah and Sarah Dodds, Riley Holleran, Camille and Emily Holleran and Jessica Dushame; her sister, Nancy C. Bourque of North Hampton, NH, along with several generations of nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends.
The family wants to thank the staff at High Pointe House in Haverhill and the staff from Merrimack Valley Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion they provided to June particularly the attention given to June by Mo Kennedy and Michel Tejada.
Memorial Services and burial at Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill, will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her memory to Autism Speaks, Attn: WAM Donation, 1060 State Road, 2nd Floor, Princeton, NJ 08540. Arrangements are by Paul Rogers Family Funeral Home, 334 Main Street, Haverhill.

My condolences on June's passing. I was a fellow classmate in her class of 1960 at Lowell. Although we didn't keep in touch after graduation, we had some great times at LTC.

my Mother Roberta Gynan Takesian and Aunt Barbara Prophet always spoke of John, Helen and June with a smile. I may have met June somewhere along the line, but her name was always familiar because she was spoken of with love.
