Nantucket, MA - Girard Joseph Mailloux, formerly of Haverhill, died on Tuesday, February 19 at Our Island Home in Nantucket. He was 91.
He was born in Haverhill on September 18, 1928, to Harold and Helen (Eithier) Mailoux. He was predeceased by his four siblings, Robert Mailloux, Loraine Hargraves, Adele Gouldreault, and Pauline Mailloux.
He Attended Haverhill Trade School and then served in the U.S. Navy from 1947 to 1949. He was employed at Western Electric for 32 years until his retirement in 1983. He was also employed at the Hale Hospital.
He was married to Gloria Ruth (Steele) Mailloux for 44 years until her death in 1992. He is survived by their six children, Peter Mailloux and his wife Suzanne Ozment of Aiken SC, Stephen Mailloux of Nantucket, Scott Mailloux and his wife, Susan of Pepperell, MA, Debra Dolfe of Haverhill, Mass., Barry Mailloux and his wife, Tracy of Nantucket, Mass., and Eric Mailloux and his wife Jen of Milford, Ohio.
He is also survived by his 13 grandchildren. Joshua Mailloux of Norwell, Mass., Brenden Mailloux of Nantucket, Devin Mailloux of Boston, Mass., Jeffery Mailloux of Milford, N.H., Daniel Mailloux of Pepperell, Mass., Brian Dolfe of Maryville, Tenn., Mark Dolfe of Bradford, Nicole Dolfe of Haverhill, Mass., Caleb Mailloux of Nanucket, and Erica, Sophia, Libby and Sam Mailloux all of Milford, Ohio. He also had four great-grandchildren, Dylan and Ben Mailloux of Milford, N.H., Marin Mailloux of Nantucket, Mass., and Corey Mailloux of Nantucket.
All will mourn and miss him.
