WEST NEWBURY: A caring husband and a wonderful father, William James Stewart Jr. passed away on March 7, with his family by his side. He was born on Dec. 22, 1930, in Andover, to William and Louise Gauthier Stewart. He was a medic in the Korean War and after attending Merrimac College, joined the Massachusetts State Police. He is survived by his wife of 57 Years, Joan Casey Stewart, John Stewart and his wife, Michele of Colorado, Timothy Stewart and his wife, Pam of Columbia, N.H. He was also the father of the late William James Stewart III and Cynthia Lee Stewart Noble. He is survived by his two sisters, Connie Grant and Mary Lou Caron, both of Andover. His 10 grandchildren lovingly called him “Bumpy." Bill has many nieces, nephews and close friends.

His calling hours were held on Sunday, March 15, 2015, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill.
