Sylvia I. (Falconer) Clay, 96, of Haverhill, died Monday morning, July 10, 2017.
In 1954 she opened the Sylvia Clay School of Dance Education, later renamed the Clay School of Dance in Haverhill. Mrs. Clay was a highly respected and successful dance instructor for 45 years in Haverhill where she taught generations of students in ballet, tap, jazz and Scottish dancing.
She was predeceased by her siblings Gordon and John Falconer, Vivian Callendar and Alice Sharp. In 2015, she was also predeceased by her loving husband, Lt. Col. Linwood R. Clay.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Laurie L. Clay of Haverhill.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Graveside Service on Friday morning, July 14 at 11 a.m. in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. There will be no calling hours.
