Sherri (Weinberg) Griffis, 81, of Groveland, died Saturday morning, July 9, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill.
She was born in Haverhill, March 21, 1935, daughter of the late Abraham and Evelyn (Brown) Weinberg. Educated in the Haverhill school system, Mrs. Griffis graduated from Haverhill High School and earned her Associate's Degree from Chamberlain College.
For over 18 years, she was employed in the admitting and emergency departments at the former Hale Hospital in Haverhill, from where she retired on December 3, 1997.
She was a longtime member of Temple Emanu-El in Haverhill, the Ladies Helping Hand, and a Life Member of the Hadassah.
Her survivors include her husband of 35 years, David Griffis of Groveland; three daughters, Marla Covitz and her husband, Roger of Salem, Wendy Applebaum and her husband, Gary of Bradford, Judy Rossi and her husband, Andrew of Methuen; a brother, Jordan Weinberg of Chelmsford; and six grandchildren, Max Abraham Covitz, Ashley Rossi, Andrew Rossi, III, Jacquelyn Marie Rossi, Evan Applebaum and Sam Applebaum.
