FORMERLY OF BRADFORD: Ruth Ann (Hammond) Platts, 74, of Methuen and former longtime Bradford resident, died Saturday, August 29, at Wingate at Reading.
She was born in Gloucester, June 20, 1941, daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy (Scriven) Hammond.
Her survivors include her husband of 54-and-a-half years, Kenneth H. Platts of Methuen; two sons, Steven and his wife, Diane Platts of Houston, Texas, Michael and his wife, Kandace Platts of Haverhill; two daughters, Karen and her husband, Bill Held of Andover, Andrea Twining of Shrewsbury; two sisters, Jean and her husband, Kenneth Vicari of Gloucester, Lois and her husband, Joseph Perry of Chester, N.H.; six grandchildren, Ryan and Josh Platts, Anna Held, Kelsey and Tyler Twining, Chloe Parades, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her calling hours on Thursday, September 3, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 So. Main St., Bradford, followed by a funeral service at 7:15 p.m. at the funeral home.
