HAVERHILL - Robert J. Caputi, 78, of Haverhill, passed away February 23, at Lawrence General Hospital. He was born in Haverhill on December 17, 1939, son of the late Ferdinando and Maria Carmela (Iafolla) Caputi. He is predeceased by his son, Robert "Robbie" Caputi.

Smalley and her boyfriend, Phil Jorge of Haverhill; nephew Brian R. Leavitt, wife Michelle and their daughter, Emma Grace of Plymouth; cousins Eda Lupi of Haverhill, and Romeo Lupi of N.H.
Robert was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School and was employed for many years in quality control at Gillette, until his retirement more than 25 years ago. He loved all sports, especially football and the Patriots, music, dancing, and going to the beach with his family and friends. He always looked forward to spending Mondays with his step-daughter, Cindy, going to lunch and shopping, and he never missed the chance to spend time with his "buddies" at Dunkin' Donuts. Robert was a gentle, kind, caring, and soft-spoken man. He will be sadly missed by his family and all his friends and especially his longtime friend, Raymond Rosatone.
