Raymond "Ray"'s Story

Raymond David “Ray” Goudreault, Sr., 73, died Monday, September 4, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Goudreault was born and lived most of his life in Haverhill. He retired from the U.S. Navy as CPO, where he was known as “Goody”, with 30 years of service. Ray moved to Grand Bay in 2015 to be with family. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Haverill and was a member of the Southern Maine Tractor Club and former Vice President of The Doodlebug Association. His hobby was building tractors for pulling competitions and was a master mechanic of flathead V8 engines, and welding.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Leona and brothers, Robert, Leonard and Ernest “Sonny” Goudreault. Survivors include his wife, Charleen Moran; sons, Raymond D. Goudreault, Jr. and Philip A. (Angela) Goudreault; sister, Lillian (Dan) German; brothers, Alfred, Edward “Bib” (Mary Ellen) and Wilfred Goudreault. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Andrew, Chad, Taylor and Ashley and by a stepson, Michael (Patricia) Moran and two great-grandchildren, Ian Goudreault and Anna Leigh Goudreault.
A celebration of Ray’s life was held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 10 a.m. til 12 p.m. at Hughes Funeral Home in Daphne.
Due to several loved ones unable to attend Saturday’s service, there will be a Mass and memorial service to celebrate dad’s life for all of his family and friends to attend in Haverhill, at 11 a.m., Sunday, October 8, 2017 at All Saints Parish Church (St. Joseph’s), 120 Bellevue Ave, Haverhill, MA 01832.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Ray to Patriot Guard Riders of Alabama, 758 Ashwood Drive East, Mobile, AL 36693.
Mr. Goudreault will be buried at sea with full Navy honors at a later date. Expressions of condolence for the family may be made at www.hughesfh.com.
