Raymond N. "Sonny" Coppola, formerly of East Boston, Mass., passed away after a long battle with cancer. His final moments were shared in his home with his family by his side. Raymond touched everyone he met with his sense of humor and fierce loyalty. He was constantly a shoulder for anyone that needed comfort or was looking for honest advice. Raymond will be truly missed by all those who knew him. He leaves behind loving wife, Cherie Nadeau Coppola; step-daughters, Ashley and Stacy Lane; niece, Deanna Santos and daughter, Alysia Flaherty; and mother, Dorothea Coppola. He was predeceased by his father, Dominic Coppola; sisters, Shirley Coppola, June and Calvin Winey and Tina Coppola. Ray also leaves behind father-in-law, Arthur Nadeau; and in-laws, Tammy Nadeau, Scott Nadeau; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; two great-nephews and a great-niece. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Boston Children's Hospital Trust in honor of Raymond.
Services will be held on June 24 at 10 a.m. at Saint Patrick's Church in Groveland, Mass. As requested by Ray, please wear bright colors. Family and friends are welcome to attend the family home after services for a celebration of life gathering.
