HAVERHILL: Phillip Wightman, 85, of Bradford, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Oxford Home in Haverhill.
He was born in Haverhill Sept 11, 1929.
He married Maria T. Camilo on Nov. 14, 1955.
He was employed in the Haverhill school system till he retired. He was a WWII veteran with the Air Force and in later years a member of the VFW Lorraine Post 29 and the former VFW Post 675 in Bradford.
Phillip was predeceased by his wife, Maria Wightman, who passed away in 2012.
Mr. Wightman is survived by his sons, Phillip A. Wightman, Jr. of Newmarket, N.H. and Gary A. Wightman of Bradford; five grandchildren, Kristina Madera, Lisa D’Agostino, Rebecca Diaz, Kendra Wightman and Joshua Wightman, 10 great-grandchildren, Jenica, Kaleb, Josiah, Kadence, Ashlynn, Kyleigh, Jackson, Haleena, Mailani and Daniel, as well as several nieces and nephews.
His funeral service was held on April 11, at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Interment followed in the Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford. Calling hours at the funeral home were April. 10. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local veteran’s organization of the donor’s choice.
