Patricia A.'s Story
Patricia A. (Murphy) Carleton, a long-time resident of Groveland, Mass., and Thunderbolt, Ga., died April 26, 2016, in Bridgewater, N.H.
Born November 14, 1932, in Haverhill, Mass., a graduate of Haverhill High School, Pat received her X-Ray certification from the Massachusetts School of Physiotherapy in 1951.
She worked at the Hale Hospital and later as a bookkeeper for various establishments. She spent many years as a "Sparkette," volunteering numerous hours during fires and mass casualties in the Town of Groveland, Mass. She was involved with the Order of Eastern Star in Haverhill and Thunderbolt, and was Mother Advisor for Haverhill Rainbow Girls.
Patricia loved travel, following NASCAR, knitting, lighthouses and the water.
She is survived by her children, Bruce A. Spencer and his wife, Victoria of Bristol, N.H., and Cynthia (Carleton) Kimball, and her husband, Jeffrey of Easton, Maine; grandchildren, Christopher Spencer, Brienne (Spencer) Austin, Jeffrey Spencer, Matthew Spencer, Jonathan Kimball and Acacia Kimball; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Marissa Spencer.
A graveside service was held on July 27 at Riverview Cemetery in Groveland at 10:30 a.m.
