Norman J.'s Story
Norman J. Roberts, 74, of Madeira Beach, Florida, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016, at the Suncoast Hospice in Pinellas Park after a long battle with heart disease. He was born in Lawrence, Mass., on June 21, 1942, to the late Norman E. and Helen Roberts. He was raised in North Andover and attended school there.
Norman served in the U.S. Navy for three years and then became a Lawrence police officer for 20 years. After retirement he worked as a tax preparer for H&R Block.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Anita Roberts; and two sons, U.S. Air Force Col. Michael Roberts and his wife, Jodi, who are currently stationed in Germany, and son, Brian Roberts of Lawrence, Mass. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Andrew and Ashleigh Roberts; sister, Norma and her husband, Donald Hurrell of Lawrence; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Norman was predeceased by his sister, Joan Roberts.
Norman's funeral was held in Florida.
Family and friends are invited to attend Norman's memorial Mass on December 10, at 4 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 44 E. Merrimack St, Lowell, MA.
