Maureen M.'s Story
Maureen M. (Williams) Atkinson, 80, of Haverhill and formerly of Andover passed away Saturday, January 21 at Haverhill Crossings.
She was born in Castleford, Yorkshire, England on July 18, 1936, daughter of the late Charles and Teresa (Farrar) Williams.
She was educated in England and married her husband John in the town they grew up in. In 1973, they moved to the U.S. settling in Andover. She had worked at the Merrimack Valley Motor Inn and later for Delorenzo Chiropractic.
Maureen loved traveling throughout the U.S. and also going back and forth to England to visit family. She was an avid reader and loved going to musical shows.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years John C. Atkinson; her three loving sons, Ian Atkinson and his wife Kendra of Saginaw, Mich., Neil A. Atkinson of Windham, NH and Richard J. Atkinson and his wife, Lisa of Bradford; and her six cherished grandchildren, Jeffrey, Scott, Cameron, Emily, Abigal and Owen.
Her visitation was held on Wednesday, Jan. 25th from 10 to 11:15 a.m.at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St. (Rte. 125) Bradford. A funeral service followed at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private. Contributions in her memory may be made to an organization of your choice.
