HAVERHILL: Mary (Parlitsis) Rogers, 93, of Haverhill, died Saturday, May 16, at Haverhill Crossings, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Haverhill, August 26, 1921, daughter of the late Michael and Nora (Shapers) Parlitsis.
Educated in the Haverhill school system, Mrs. Rogers graduated from Haverhill High School, attended college and earned her Bachelor’s degree.
For several years she was a bookkeeper for her family businesses, Peabody Amusement and Apollo Vending, which was operated by her late husband and son.
While in Haverhill she was a member of Holy Apostles Saints Peter & Paul Greek Orthodox Church and the Daughters of Penelope.
She was the beloved wife of the late Hamlet Rogers who died in 1991 and is survived by their son, George Rogers of Hampton, N.H. and several nieces and nephews.
Her calling hours were held on Wednesday, May 20, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Her graveside service will be held on Thursday morning, May 21 at 11:30 in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, 185 Lake St., Peabody. If attending please meet at the main gate 15 minutes prior to the service.
