Lina's Story

HAVERHILL: Lina R. Randall, 98, of Haverhill, passed away peacefully, Sunday evening, June 7, at the Wingate at Haverhill.

She was born in Springfield, Mass., November 4, 1916 the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Coupal dit La Reine) DeRenzo

Mrs. Randall was educated in the Haverhill public school system and attended Haverhill High School. During WWII she was employed as a welder at the Hingham shipyard. Lina was later employed at Western Electric from where she retired after 35 years.

Lina was a fantastic candle pin bowler and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was the wife of the late “Sailor Joe” who was well known throughout Haverhill for owning Sailor Joe’s Pool Room.

Mrs. Randall was predeceased by her husband, George Randall; two brothers, Frank and Roland DeRenzo and two sisters, Doris and Jeanette.

She is survived by her son, Ron Randall and his wife, Evelyn of Haverhill; two grandchildren, Lynne Caloggero and her husband, Christopher of Salem, N.H. and Cynthia Bowling and her husband, William of Colville, Wash.; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Her graveside service was held June 10, in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Haverhill. Arrangements were by the H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Homes, Haverhill and Bradford. Condolences to her family may be made at www.farmerfuneralhomes.com.
