Koula (Kamberalis) Frangos, 97, wife of the late John W. Frangos, with whom she shared 39 wonderful years of marriage, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at the Ledgewood Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Beverly.
Born and raised in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Kamberelis and Evdokia (Voulalas) Karageorge and her husband, Michael Karageorge. She received her education at the Hellenic American and public schools in Haverhill.
A resident of Beverly for 19 years prior to moving to Wenham in 1977, Mrs. Frangos was active in volunteering for many community and civic organizations including Beverly Hospital, St. Vasilios Church in Peabody, St. George's Church in Ipswich, the Holy Apostles Church in Haverhill, and the local garden clubs, to name a few.
Surviving her are many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews and her godchildren. She was also the sister of the late George Kamberelis and Nicholas Kamberalis.
Her funeral service will be celebrated at the Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, 156 Winter Street, Haverhill, Saturday, February 4, 2017, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Friday, February 3, 2017, from 2 to 5 p.m. Burial in the Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill, MA will follow the church service.
