Kenneth R.'s Story
Kenneth ”Handlebars” Domin died Sunday, December 25, 2016, at the Merrimac Valley Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by his older siblings, Robert O. Domin and Helen F. Dow, who both live in California; and his younger brother, Barry P. Domin, who lives in Florida with his wife, Gloria. He will also be missed by his eight nieces, great-nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Kenny was a lifelong resident of Haverhill and the operator of The Frame Shop. Always a hard worker, he enjoyed a long career using his hands, working with metal.
Although not a rich man, Kenny was generous with his time and skills. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to any family or friend in need. Talented in metalwork, Kenny often created beautiful gifts, including copper and stainless steel bracelets, that he gave to those he cherished.
Kenny could often be found surrounded by his family and friends holding a cold beer, wearing his head-wrap and his iconic handlebar mustache. One of his many passions was to ride his three-wheeler trike, which he often used to bring smiles to his many passengers’ faces. He was also a great storyteller and could entertain a crowd for hours with tales of childhood misadventures and a life filled with colorful escapades. Everyone has a story that includes Kenny; some about how he lent a helping hand, others of mischief and shenanigans. Every single one of them would bring a smile to your face in remembrance.
The family will hold a private remembrance ceremony of Kenny. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the American Cancer Society at https://donate3.cancer.org.
