Kenneth's Story

PORT CHARLOTTE, FL: Kenneth P. Guay, Sr., 83, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away on October 15, 2015.

Kenneth was born in Lawrence, the son of the late Donat and Lena (Marsha) Guay and stepmother, Germaine Guay. He graduated of Lawrence High School and attended ITT in Boston.

Former member of the Knights of Columbus in Groveland, where he was also the former treasurer. He also belonged to the Elks and American Legion back in Haverhill. He was a member and usher at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Port Charlotte. He belonged to Knights of Columbus in Florida, American Legion and the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Port Charlotte, Fla.

Kenneth honorably served his country in the Army during the Korean War where he was stationed in Germany. He retired from Lucent Technologies in 1989 as a Supervisor in the North Andover.

His hobbies included fishing, card playing especially the game 45s with family and friends, working in his yard and walking his dog. He was also a longtime Patriots fan.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 62-plus years, Arlene; daughter, Donna Comeau and husband, David of East Longmeadow; daughter, Deborah Rodriguez and husband, Jesse of Denver, N.C.; son, Kenneth P., Jr. of San Diego, and daughter, Theresa Guay and spouse Joyce Warburton of Haverhill; granddaughters, Jennifer O’Toole (and husband, Michael) of West Simsbury, Conn. and Melissa Rodriguez of Charlotte, N.C.; grandsons, Christopher Comeau of Shrewsbury, and Jason Rodriguez of Los Angeles; great-grandchildren, Corinne and Emmett O’Toole of West Simsbury, Conn.; half-brothers, Jean (and wife, Elaine) and Edward of Lawrence; sisters, Evelyn Sarcione of N.H.; and Cecile Lavalle, all of Salem, N.H.; sister-in-law, Rita Guay of Londonderry, N.H. and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his brothers, Robert of N.H., Joseph of Massachusetts and Donat of Nevada.
