HAVERHILL: Kenneth "Red" W. Barton Sr., 78, of Haverhill, passed away peacefully, Wednesday morning February 24, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill.
He was born in Haverhill on March 12, 1937 the only child of the late Oscar and Doris (Cook) Barton.
Mr. Barton was educated in the Haverhill school system and graduated from the Haverhill Trade School. Following graduation he enlisted in the Army and was deployed during the Korean War.
Kenneth was predeceased by his wife, Judith (Forisso) Barton, his son, Kenneth W. Barton, Jr. who passed away in January and a grandson, Cory Michael Barton.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Kimberly Cunningham of Haverhill, grandchildren, Alicia Barton and Austin Barton, Kalyn Bonilla, who he was a father figure to, her fiance Richard Robillard, and two great grandchildren, Isaiah Alexsander Bonilla and Murphy Wilder Barton.
His calling hours were held February 26, at the H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. His funeral service followed the calling hours. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Veterans North East Outreach, 65 Cedar Street, Haverhill, MA 01830.
