Katherine (Methenitis) Fanaras, 101, of Haverhill, died Thursday evening at Holy Family Hospital at Merrimack Valley, Haverhill.
A lifelong resident of the city, Mrs. Fanaras was born in Haverhill, October 21, 1915, daughter of the late Andrew and Angelina (Pappas) Methenitis and was educated in the Haverhill school system.
For over 30 years she was employed in the local shoe shops, and after her retirement assisted her son with his sub shops in Haverhill.
She was the wife of the late William E. Fanaras who died in 1976 and her survivors include two sons; Andrew Fanaras of Haverhill, William Fanaras and his wife, Vivian of Haverhill, a daughter, June Timmons and her husband, Edward of Haverhill; three grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Her calling hours were on Wednesday at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Her Funeral Service will be Thursday morning (TODAY), Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
