Jeffrey R. Cleary began his amazing adventure when he was chosen by his adoptive parents, Russell W. Cleary and Muriel (Faxon) Cleary on August 21, 1942. He spent his youth in Haverhill and Salisbury, Mass.
As a teen, Jeff was a member of the Custom Stocks Car Club. At the age of 13, Jeffrey bought his first car, dismantled it and put it back together. He attended Haverhill Trade where he further gained his skills as a mechanic and master tinkerer.
Jeff married the love of his life, Linda Loring Ingalls, on July 15, 1962. They were married for 55 wonderful years and had three daughters, Tammi, Renae, and Marnie.
One of his many accomplishments in life was to purchase his home on Main Street in Plaistow, one that was built by his great-grandfather, Charlie Moulton. He spent a lifetime remodeling it, making himself and his family proud. Before the end of his life, he restored a 1935 International Harvester C1 Pickup. He will be riding in it for the first time to his final resting place at Plaistow Cemetery.
Jeffrey is survived by his greatest treasures, his loving wife and best friend, Linda; his daughters, Tammi (husband, Steve), Renae (husband, Douglas), and Marnie (husband, Jeremy); his grandchildren, Shannon (partner, Byron), Lauren (husband, Anthony), Tyler, Braeden, Alex (partner, Jasmine), Camden (wife, Stephanie), and Keegan (wife, Kayla); his great-grandchildren, Logan, Bella, Jonah, Ryker, and Addison.
Jeff enjoyed being at home working on his house or tinkering in his garage. He always knew how to fix it, build it, or just make it go.
He will be missed by all that knew him, but he has left a legacy of love that will live on.
A Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church on Main Street in Plaistow on Saturday, August 19, 2017. Calling hours will begin at 10 a.m., with the service to follow at 11 a.m. A funeral procession for the burial of Jeff’s cremains will be at the Plaistow Cemetery. A celebration of Jeff’s life will commence shortly thereafter back at the First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jeffrey R. Cleary can be made out to the First Baptist Church in Plaistow.
