Faith M. Hume

February 24, 1939 - November 19, 2018

Faith M. Hume Kingston, NH - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved mother Faith M. Hume. She passed away peacefully at her home on November 19, 2018, surrounded by her loving family as she had wished. Faith was born on February 24, 1939, the daughter of the late Albina and William McLaughlin.
She grew up in Cambridge and was a graduate of both the Putman School and Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School. She graduated from the Cambridge City Hospital School of Nursing in 1959. She enjoyed a fifty-year nursing career which included working in hospitals and nursing homes in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
Faith moved to Kingston in 1970 with her husband and children. She was very intelligent, a keen observer, and had incredible insight into what other people needed even before they realized it. She was never too busy to listen. Faith was always positive and found the goodness in everyone she met.
Faith was predeceased by her beloved husband James, who passed away in 1980 and her grandson James Dawson Hume, who passed away in 2016. She is survived by her daughter, Ellen Hume-Howard and her husband Christopher, son, James, daughters, Lesley-Ann and Christine, son David and his wife Melissa and son Paul. Faith leaves her much loved grandchildren; grandson, Josh Howard and his wife Ariele, granddaughters Lindsey Rose Howard, Erika Hume, Taylor, Alyssa and Paige Hume, Alison and Amanda Melo.
In addition to her parents, Faith was predeceased by her brothers, David, Brian, Mark and her sister Barbara. She is survived by her beloved brother William McLaughlin and his wife Patricia of Lynnwood, Wash., as well as her aunts, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Mary, Mother of the Church, 12 Amesbury Road, Newton, NH followed by a gathering at her daughter Ellen’s home at 23 New Boston Rd, Kingston, NH. Faith was like a second Mother to me. I dated her Son Paul for almost 10 years. She was smart, funny, and extremely family oriented. We would spend hours talking about everything. She also was an amazing cook . Every year I bought her a special ornament for Christmas. I respected her immensely.. I will always care deeply about the entire family.
