Evelyn C.'s Story
Evelyn (Cronin) Curry, 95, of Haverhill, daughter of Phillip Francis and Marion (Norton) Cronin Foisy, died July 29 at Penacook Place under Merrimack Valley Hospice care.
Evelyn was born in South Berwick, Maine and grew up in Haverhill. She graduated from Haverhill High School with the class of 1939.
She married John “Buzzy” Curry and they had two sons, John Norton and Philip Francis Curry.
Evelyn worked as a telephone operator at New England Telephone Company in Haverhill and Western Electric.
She was employed at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for a short time, followed by more than 35 years at Pease Air Force Base, retiring as Chief Operator.
Evelyn is survived by her sister, Marion F. Cronin RN., of Haverhill, her two sons, John N. Curry of Washington and Philip F. Curry of Oregon, three grandchildren, Sarah C. White, Brian and Kevin Curry of Washington, seven great grandchildren and several cousins.
Her visitation was held on Friday at the H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Her Funeral Mass of Christian Burial followed at St. James Church, Haverhill. Interment was in Linwood Cemetery. To share a memory or for more information, please visit www.farmerfuneralhomes.com.
