Edith M. (Tift)'s Story
Edith M. (Tift) Davis, 85, of Haverhill, died on July 28, 2016, at Benchmark Senior Living at Haverhill Crossings.
Born, raised, and educated in Haverhill, daughter of the late William “Ike” and Evelyn (Johnston) Tift, Mrs. Davis graduated from Haverhill High School with the Class of 1948, and attended the Chandler School of Business.
Mrs. Davis was employed as a bookkeeper for many years at William Shepherd Associates, and for Virginia Tikelis, CPA.
A member of the First Baptist Church of Haverhill, and the West Congregational Church, Mrs. Davis was a member of Sweet Adeline’s Local Haverhill Chapter, and enjoyed listening to music and going to the Chicken Connection and Stillwell’s Ice Cream for chocolate chip yogurt. An avid fan of Dancing with the Stars, she enjoyed line dancing, and was a member of the Merrivale Square Dancing Club, and Holly’s Line Dancing Club.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard L. Davis in 2013, and is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Donald Heselton of East Kingston, and Sandra and Les Hamlett of Newton, N.H.; four grandchildren, Daniel Woodworth, Stephen Woodworth, Ryan Anzaldi, and Karielle Anzaldi; her special friends, the LeHoux family of Haverhill; and five great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends were invited to attend Mrs. Davis’ Memorial Service on August 14, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Plaistow, 122 Main Street, Plaistow, N.H. A reception followed in Colcord Hall. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
