Haverhill, MA - David Lee Munger, 61, passed away peacefully in Haverhill on Sunday, December 2, 2018, after battling cancer for a better part of the year.
He was born on January 8, 1957, in Hampton, Va. and was the middle son of Donald and Sally Munger. David grew up in Amesbury, graduated from Amesbury High School in 1975 and resided in Amesbury for most of his life. He later moved to Haverhilll where he attended the West Congregational Church and had been an employee of the MVRTA for the past 13 years.
David leaves behind his wife Oghogho Aigbe (Joy) Munger as well as four step-children and four step-grandchildren.
Survivors include his siblings, Donna (Bob) Brooks, Steve Munger, Paul (Karen) Munger and Kathy (Nathan) Searles; along with three nieces and two nephews.
David was an animal lover, especially cats, and enjoyed tennis, volleyball, basketball, football, and baseball as well as other sports. He was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics and New England Patriots. He also enjoyed the outdoors and could often be found hiking in the mountains.
A celebration of life service will be planned for a future date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MSPCA of Methuen, Mass.
