Daniel Forte, age 81, passed away on April 14, surrounded by his family at Maine Medical Center after a long brave battle will many illnesses. His family would like to express their appreciation for the incredible caring provided by the medical professionals at the hospital, the nurses and doctors and Scarborough Emergency Medical Services.
Daniel leaves his wife of 59 years Arlene, sons, Daniel and David along with their spouses and numerous grandchildren and was predeceased by his father, John and mother Mary (Coppola).
However, his true passion was food, especially Italian regional cooking. He was the author of four cookbooks. Donato was well-known throughout the hillside towns of Calabria, Tuscany and the streets of the North End of Boston. The many feasts he prepared will be missed by his friends and relatives. The recipes have been passed down to close family members.
His calling hours were April 19 at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St. (Route 125) Bradford. His funeral service was April 20 at the funeral Home. Interment followed in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Haverhill.
