Carol May's Story
Carol May Colby, 87, died March 31, 2017, at the Exeter Center in Exeter, N.H.
She was born June 21, 1929, in Amesbury, Mass., daughter of the late Harold and Evelyn M. (Taylor) Dudley.
Carol was predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, Wesley H. Colby Jr., who died July 7, 2005. Carol married Wesley on September 3, 1949, and they were longtime residents of East Kingston and Exeter, N.H. She was a devoted homemaker to her family and longtime caretaker for Wes who had multiple sclerosis. Carol enjoyed cooking and in her younger years playing bingo.
She is survived by three sons and their wives, Keith and Janice Colby of Exeter, N.H., Scott Colby and Peggy Atwell of Hillsborough, N.H., and Dwayne and Beth Colby of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren, Ashley, Kimberly, Alana, Zack, Brook and Jared; eight great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and David Chase; two nieces and two nephews.
There are no calling hours.
Private graveside services will be held at Exeter Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Carol's Life at the home of Keith and Janice.
